The case for an end to religious privilege

In the light of all the revelations that led to the Royal Commission, and in view of so much harm caused by this and other religious institutions, why is the Australian taxpayer expected to keep funding these organisations? This article explores the current status of tax exemptions and legislative privileges for religion in Australia, and finds no grounds to define the ‘advancement of religion’ as a ‘public benefit’.
